Diana Ross, sensationally superb, unfettered and
unafraid, was born with an aspiration to surpass even all
that she ever dreamed. Amidst the legendary Motown
musical empire, this glamorous lady with the wide eyes,
and the sexy wild hair emerged with a unique
sophisticated attitude. And through the vexing hours and
illustrious moments, Diana Ross, she became a star.
Those early days in Detroit glamorized a musical stage set
for a star! The motor town was known for being a city with
classy talented people, and Diana Ross was special. She
epitomized the essence of all that young Barry Gordy
could ever imagine. And here, on the brilliant musical
street of Detroit, Michigan, its golden echo seemed
outrageously astounding. Every sidewalk on every street
was reeking with superb musical imagination, encased in
platinum fame.
Now then, Diana Ross was all about this classic Detroit
place, where the city of love came alive with musical fame.
Here was where the music wrote its own song, set against
its classy Motown harmony. Beautiful harmony set against
music that stood amid its sweet melody, softly touched in
its hurried Motown style. Music and song echoed from this
golden ghetto place. Someone called it Motown.
Marvin Gaye and the legendary Smokey Robinson
created a sweet mesmerizing style. And they called it
Motown. While, the great Stevie Wonder, Mary Wells,
Martha Reeves were Detroit superb. Then now, the
wonderful Temptations stood alone. And here still,
Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and The Jackson Five
walked on stage! This great repertoire of extraordinary
talent performed in Detroit forever. Then now, there was
the irresistible Diana Ross, the little girl from Motown.
Diana went on to become a superb star. Ever now, Diana
is yet enshrined as a glamorous Hollywood legend.
Play it again! Central Park! New York City! Her music . . .
Diana Ross! The falling rain! A superstar, her long wild
hair is blowing in the hurried wind. Play it again! Play
Diana again and again! Diana Ross. . . . And then perhaps
tomorrow, Hollywood will yet recall the cold soulful tears
portrayed so superbly by the lady in her Oscar
performance of Lady Sing The Blues. But then again,
Diana Ross was Mahogany. And she could sing a song for
me called Endless Love. And so, may we now proudly
present, Diana Ross . . .
